How can you vote for Donald Trump?
Why would you vote for someone like this, what is wrong with you?

These are questions that have been asked by people I know. I will start out by saying that I did NOT vote for Trump in 2016, but I plan to in this 2020 election. I wouldn't necessarily say I was a #nevertrumper, but I really, really wanted Ted Cruz, and since my vote pretty much doesn't count since I live in Oregon I decided to just vote for Ted. However, over the past nearly 4 years it has become more apparent to me why this man is needed in office. Is he perfect? Heavens no. But I've been watching and observing what has been going on in the media all this time and their utter hatred for this man and I have come to the conclusion that he is the person this country and our constitution needs.

I follow a blogger/Youtuber, Lindsey Rietzsch, who has spoken so eloquently exactly how I feel about all that is going on, about why I will vote for President Trump, why I support him. What I share here, in its entirety, is a response she gave to someone on Facebook who asked those exact questions in the title of this blog. She felt she could not remain silent any longer. There are some parts in it she shared at different times in some of her videos. I have chosen to compile them all here in this one post. These are all her words, but I share the exact same sentiment.

As she stated in her response, I will say the same....I have no intention to debate, argue, be right, or to offend. If offense is taken that is by choice of the reader. I especially want my democrat/liberal friends to know that it is still possible to be friendly with one another, and that is what I plan on doing. I have some liberal friends who have no problem telling me why I'm wrong, and then there are some that we just don't talk politics and life is great. I'd rather keep the friendship. I certainly do not intend to cause discord, but I do know that the question some have of why we would ever vote for a man like Trump is a real question, I feel it necessary to try to give a response. You may not like it, and that's ok. In fact, I know that this post will rub some the wrong way. You certainly don't have to read it. We can still be friends.

“I’m not voting in a religious leader, I’m not looking for someone to be my role model. That’s what my church is for, that’s why I follow a prophet. I’m looking for someone who is a fierce defender of the constitution and of the freedoms of our land and people, a battle warrior against socialism and communism, against the plans of the enemy.

"We didn’t vote in a righteous man, we voted in a man who would listen to us, who would protect our freedoms and restore the constitution. This is nothing new or surprising. The scriptures show us countless examples how God uses imperfect people, very imperfect people to accomplish His will. Jeraboam, Jeraboam II, Cyrus, Saul, Matthew the tax collector, Rahab the prostitute, David an adulterer & murderer, etc, etc… These people had what it took, what God needed to get a breakthrough. I will tell you why your friend, and myself and 61 million other Americans voted for Donald J Trump.

"It all comes down to the constitution. We believe this president has done more to protect the constitution of this nation than any other president, period. We believe he’s become a far better man than he was in the past. I believe that’s how it should be. I believe I’m a far better person today than I was 10 years ago. If people judged me by my past mistakes, I wouldn’t have a chance in this life. You see, I don’t’ need a perfect moral person without flaw to be my president, that’s what I have a Savior for. I need someone who does what the people voted him to do. I need a fierce defender of the constitution and not someone who’s afraid to stand up to the corruption we’ve had to deal with for the past several decades from BOTH parties. I need someone who wasn’t already a career politician I needed someone who didn’t NEED this job because he was already successful. Someone who certainly didn’t need the constant persecution, spewed hatred and security risk for his family that he knew would come to this job. MSNBC  and CNN won’t tell you that. They will give him zero credit for accomplishing just about all he said he would do. They won’t tell you he has a track record for any accomplishment unlike any other president who has sat in that Oval office, hands down. And that’s exactly why they hate him. They wanted him to fail, as do his supporters. They won’t point out him sacrificing time with his family, much needed vacations, living on 4 hours of sleep each night and devoting his service to long hours of work for the American people. That’s right…. Service. He gives his paycheck to charity. His most recent check of $100,000 went to Coronavirus aid to this country. He does all of this while getting spat upon everyday by fellow Americans. I should have added right here, many who have cashed their stimulus checks. Yet he wakes up everyday and does it again.

"Nothing he ever does is good enough for the media and their supporters. They will always find something wrong and never report the good. I don’t blame the haters for hating because that’s all they know from what they read, all they hear fed. You hear 100% negativity about a person 24/7 you are guaranteed to dislike them. I’ve sat by quietly for far too long all these years, along with the rest of the silent majority of the country, watching all the hatred spewed out from the media and on social media criticizing our president  24/7, causing the division we now have and refusing to recognize their role and responsibility in it, nor trying to make it right. The Flynn case is a prime example why we voted Donald J. Trump into office. What those papers reveal show that the last president completely trampled on our constitution and lied to America about it. None of us deserve that. Not you and not me. He committed haineous political crimes to stop a duley elected president from staying in office. He’s not the only one. A friend of mine was unaware of this because of the media outlets she chose to listen to, because they weren’t reporting on this. She finally did her own research and concluded, yes there is a cover up going on right now and it is ugly. When you leave the media and go straight to the source the truth is always there.

"Here is the best way I can sum up what’s been happening and how we feel. In the New Testament the Pharisees were infamous for always pointing fingers and making accusations towards others of the very same things they were guilty of. Why? To take the focus off of them and to distract from their own sins. Or in this case, their own crimes. That sums up what has happened to Trump throughout his entire presidency. He has persevered through all of this abuse and the media and their supporters refuse to recognize any of the thousands of positive accomplishments that he has worked hard to get done for the 61 million Americans who voted for him. For 4 years we have been silenced and censored for showing our public support for our president while those who hate him are encouraged in their platform and praised for their efforts to be so vocal about their hatred towards him, again contributing to the division we have today. I am myself a peace maker and peace keeper. I never speak how I truly feel. Maybe that’s a bad thing. I have been censored on Youtube for speaking support for Trump. I have been so unfairly treated by various other media platforms that it feels like 1930s Nazi Germany. This should not be tolerated. Not by you or by me. Even if you disagree with me I should be given the freedom of not having my video or posts being deleted because I am a conservative. This is wrong. For once, right now, I am choosing to take a stand and not to tolerate this bullying anymore. I choose to speak up about how I feel. And speaking of MSNBC and CNN and all the others, we become all we watch. If all we read and watch and listen to is hatred and negativity, that’s what we become. I extend this invitation to everyone. Instead of using social media to complain and using negativity, lets try using it to uplift and inspire this world. Let’s use it to spread kindness and love. If we look for the good we can find it. When we find it we need to share it. Let’s refuse to be part of the problem. Let’s be the solution."
